Zamru (Sing!) & Welcome of Rabbi Julie Roth
    5:30 pm – 6:30 pm

Come and welcome Rabbi Julie Roth to Shomrei!

Zamru (Sing!) is dedicated to transformative, engaging, joyful and heartfelt prayer. Nearly the entire service is sung out loud, to tunes some of which are familiar and some of which may be new, accompanied by jazz and flamenco-influenced guitar. The music is a global fusion of styles including traditional nusach, niggunim (wordless tunes), and piyyutim (liturgical poems) with melodies from Jewish communities originating in Spain, North Africa, the Middle East, and more.

Zamru services will be held monthly and are led by Rabbi Julie, Rabbinic Student Lily Lucey and members of the Shomrei community. They will be accompanied by guitarist Matt Davis. Services will be held outdoors (weather permitting) and be followed by Taste of Shabbat potluck dinner.

    Zamru (Sing!)
    5:30 pm – 6:30 pm
